Gboard is one of the best third-party keyboards available for iPhones, but you probably don't know everything you need to know about it to become a real Gboard pro and stop using Apple's stock keyboard for good. Apple's patent application is pretty broad, basically taking ownership of any flexible barrier under a keyboard. Then open the keyboard, tap and hold on the Globe icon and select your newly installed keyboard to switch to it. The Globe key is also how you cycle between all the installed keyboards.
Enter the desired full phrase ("MacBook Pro 2016 with Touch Bar" might be a good one for a tech journalist), the shortened version that you want to expand into the longer phrase ("MBP", say), and tap Save. Go to Settings > General, scroll down and tap Keyboard.

Apple has added this new security feature to iOS 11.4.1 that makes it harder for hackers - as well as law enforcement and government agencies - to unlock your iPhone.
On the other side of the keyboard are additional buttons. If you use your iPhone or iPad for work communication, you end up typing a lot. If you want to select text, ease the pressure you apply against the screen without letting go, then press firmly again to start highlighting text.
Usually, to fix a typo, you have to tap the screen where you want to make an edit, or press and hold until the circular magnifier tool pops up. However, more often than not, you end up selecting the wrong word instead of moving the cursor to exactly where you want it.
